Single- and Multiple-Adulterants Determinations of Goat Milk Powder by NIR Spectroscopy Combined with Chemometric Algorithms

In this work, we quantified goat milk powder adulteration by adding urea, melamine, and starch individually simultaneously, with the utilization of near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy coupled chemometrics. For single-adulterant samples, successive projections algorithm (SPA) selected three, four optimal wavelengths for starch, respectively. Models were built based on partial least squares regression (PLS) wavelengths, exhibiting good predictive ability an Rp2 above 0.987 RMSEP below 0.403%. multiple-adulterants PLS2 multivariate curve resolution alternating (MCR-ALS) adopted to build models quantify three adulterants simultaneously. The results showed adequate precision better than those MCR-ALS. Except MCR-ALS presented milk, concentrations. allowed detection new unknown substitutes as well development without need usage a large data set.
